2018 is the Year of New Beginnings

Trying to get it right.

 No Mistakes.

Now, I am here to tell you it is okay to do it over and

nothing wrong with doing it again.

What a waste, putting all of your time and energy into getting it right.

Focused on saying the right things rather than just

saying what you have to say.

Countless hours, wondering what people are saying or

thinking about you.

 SSSOOOO what!

People do not think.

 At least not about you.

They are not thinking of you.

Dr. Seuss, reminds us of

"Be who you are and say what you feel, because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind."

The thoughts of people judging or being critical of you

will keep you immobilize.

I can attest to it.  For years, I could not make decisions

and move forward because

they had to be the right decisions.

I was so terrified of getting it wrong or making a

mistake, that I did nothing.

That was the biggest mistake of them all.

I repeatedly ran down the playlist of all my past failures

and mistakes.

Hearing the corrective voices of my parents regarding

my life, my choices, and my decisions.

I did not want to displease God.

I did not want to make a mistake.

Therefore, I was going to be everything and do

everything expected of me to avoid it.

Have you lived in that space before, avoiding failures and

mistakes as if sudden death was imminent?

Running from the very thing in life designed to help you

grow, guide you on the path of self-discovery, and open

doors to you.

No one gets it right the first time

Some people have to go around the carousel

three or four times.

I heard SheBree Henry of BeSpoke state,

“Life is not about perfection, it’s about the process.

 Embrace the process.

It is well-known fact that when you fall off a horse, it is

best to get back on it as soon as possible.

Once you let fear seep in,

you will begin to come up with excuses after excuses

as to why you cannot or should not mount that horse

So, it is in life, avoidance of fear makes it get bigger,

hairier, and scarier.

If you got it wrong in 2017, BRAVO! That means you did

If you get it wrong it 2018, BRAVO, you went out on a

limb and forsook the comfort zone.

Guess what, you are that much closer to it.

When you finally get it, you will no longer be at your

current level.

The uncomfortable will now be comfortable and you will

have to stretch toward the next “uncomfortable” place.

Let us rephrase the quote,

“Life is not about getting it right, you won’t.

It’s about making corrections along the way.“
